"Beeing different is what makes us special"
After a long hospital admission I began to realise how easy it is to overlook the little things that bring us joy in a world constantly striving for perfection. Inspired by how my dogs and horses see the world — full of curiosity, joy, and unconditional acceptance — I began creating art to help people see life differently. My work celebrates imperfection, kindness, and the small moments that make each day special.
From those first hospital sketches, Ellabee's grew into a creative family project at our kitchen table. My mum, the true mastermind behind the brand, helped bring everything to life — buying our first mug press, printing designs onto T-shirts and mugs, and shaping the stalls that became the heart of our journey. From the first sketch our mission has remained clear throughout: to transform everyday products to remind us that there is always light in the darkness when we embrace our imperfections and notice the little things we so often overlook. At Ellabee's, we believe that — like the bees who were never designed to fly but do anyway — we can all find our own way to shine.
My passion for animals, especially rescue dogs, has led me to collaborate with several animal rescues, using my artwork to raise awareness and support their incredible work.
Many of my illustrations are inspired by these real rescue dogs and their stories — beautiful reminders of how golden imperfection can be, and how love and resilience can transform lives.
Our work now includes illustrated mugs, prints, cards, baby grows, stickers, T-shirts, and more - featuring our signature bee where we can and touches of gold, symbolising that imperfection is golden. We celebrate imperfection wherever we can - from upcycling frames to using recycled paper in our prints. I work in mixed media, using everything from potatoes to cotton buds — because creativity, like life, doesn't have to follow the rules to be beautiful.
Our new line also includes one-of-a-kind pieces such as candles in vintage teacups and preloved teddy bears with hand-illustrated labels each designed to make you smile while helping us reduce waste and reuse materials.
“Through my art, I want to create a sense of escape. I want to design products that remind people that it is ok not to be perfect, in fact our imperfections are the most beautiful thing of all ! Each piece encourages people to rediscover the wonder that still exists in the world around us.”
Comissions
I predominantly work digitally for commissions, as this allows me to maintain the highest possible quality while offering fair, accessible pricing. Working digitally means I can create from anywhere and stay efficient with my small family team, without the delays, extra costs or waste that come with using traditional materials — ensuring you receive exceptional artwork at a price that feels right.
As well as prints, I also offer the option to bring your artwork to life across our illustrated products—including mugs, T-shirts, cards, stickers and more. These make meaningful gifts and beautiful keepsakes, allowing your pet's story to be celebrated every day in a way that feels personal and joyful.
Digital commissions start from £60 for an A5 portrait, with an additional £20 for each extra pet. Larger sizes are available on request. If you'd prefer a completely traditional artwork created using physical materials such as pencils, paints and collage, this is available too. Due to the additional time, detail and materials required, traditional commissions start from £120.
No matter the medium, each piece is created with the same intention celebrate the wonderful character of your pet, and to offer a daily reminder that there is beauty in the little, imperfect things that make life special.
Every piece begins with custom digital brushes I've handcrafted to mirror my traditional mixed-media techniques. I've spent years developing them to ensure the texture, depth and character of my original sketchbook art remains at the heart of every commission. Once complete, each portrait is professionally printed on high-quality, FSC-certified, textured fine art paper using archival pigment inks. This combination gives the artwork rich colour, beautiful detail, and a finish that truly captures your pet's unique personality.
Once printed, I hand-embellish every commission with delicate touches of gold and personally sign each one. My work is designed to be a warm reminder of the joy in everyday life, so many of my portraits also feature our small signature bee — a symbol that imperfection is golden. On request I can leave the bee out, but the golden embellishment will always remain — it's essential to what makes an Ellabee's portrait feel magical.
How it works
Once you're ready, simply send me a selection of high-quality photos of pet - preferably 5-10 images that show their personality, markings and any features that make them... them. We will choose the image that works best for the portrait together.
A 50% deposit secures your booking and allows me to begin the artwork. If you have a special date in mind — such as a birthday or memorial — just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.
